Hon. Satej D Patil, younger son of Padma Shri Dr. D.Y. Patil, is the former Home Minister (Urban & Rural), Rural Development, Food & Drugs Administration of Maharashtra state. He is a leader of the Indian National Congress from Maharashtra state.

A fiery visionary & principally vibrant young leader, he has been predominantly devoted to social, agricultural and educational causes. His spectrum of work encompasses a plethora of holistic reforms; be it the momentous Clean Drinking Water Supply, Housing projects, Internal Link Roads Development projects or Ban on chewing tobacco. His initiatives have long been motored towards uplifting weaker sections of the society, empowering women, promoting arts & sports culture and building competent educational infrastructure for all masses.

Dr. D.Y. Patil Kala, Krida, Shaikshanik & Sanskrutik Trust and Padma Shri Dr. D. Y. Patil Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana Ltd. are some of his illustrious dream projects turned into reality over the last few years.

He discusses his plans for the city as, “Breaking clutches of illiteracy, poverty and deprived infrastructural situations are first of the few ____on our agenda. Illustrious efforts from our end have been and will be taken to promote education, curbing social torment, women empowerment, strengthening the infrastructure and most importantly preserving & promoting the rich cultural heritage that Kolhapur is known for. This city has the potential to grow exponentially but we need to reinforce a good transportation facility to make it a central hub.”
